Glorious is a design agency. We win lots of work, we do lots of creative stuff and we like our work a lot. We have some young designers with bags of ideas and enthusiasm and some older gents. Some of them rarely shave, while others have a vast array of Adidas trainers.

Going, going, gong

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

It’s good to be Glorious, which is why we were chuffed to win two awards at this year’s Roses Design Awards, held at Manchester’s longest building, Beetham Tower. We got two nominations and both got prizes, bronzes; one for our diary (best use of photography) and another for Temperature Control (best website), which wasn’t bad [...]

Teacher’s pet

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

It’s always satisfying when a plan comes together, especially when it’s an 18 month project to rebrand one of the most well known names in private education.
So, when the new signage went up at Merchant Taylors’ Schools in Crosby, our design team made themselves a brew and cracked open the Hob Nobs.
‘Merchants’, for those who [...]

Tate in 08

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Time to get yourself down to Albert Dock.
The Docks are packed with the 68 foot Round the World Clippers, while the Tate is refurb-ing the gallery in preparation for Capital of Culture year.

We’ve just completed a Talent Year Book for North West Vision – the film and TV agency – celebrating the finest new talent from the region.
It’s their first Talent Book, so it was important that we got it right, particularly as the target market was producers and agents, who are inundated with CVs and scripts.
It [...]

Country culture

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

Two of our designers had a day out in Kendal to support our lovely clients at the Arts Council.
It was the first stage of the annual art07 event and we had designed and produced all of the branding and marketing material. It was a good day out, with a rather heated debate on city v. [...]

Top of the Pops

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

Well, in certain areas of the North of England Design Consultancy of the Year poll we did come tops.
We came first in strategic thinking within the client poll (one of the three polls which goes to make up the final table), and third in the client satisfaction poll and fourth overall.
Not bad going, considering we’ve [...]
